Show Notes

Sam Ciapanna is an American with dual citizenship who has recently purchased a home in the region of Abruzzo. He describes the challenges of traveling to Italy during the covid-19 crisis. We learn of the love he has for the hill town of Colonnella where his grandfather was once a beloved tailor and referred to the town as Bella Colonnella. Sam shares with the listeners many of the fascinating places to see in this less traveled region of Italy, including the platforms over the sea, trabucchi, originally used as fishing mechanisms, they have been turned into restaurants, offering a very unique dining experience! In the future Sam plans to open his home as a Bed & Breakfast, providing his guests with an authentic Italian experience.

Colonnella is in the Teramo province of the region of Abruzzo
